Upload plugin suggestion

Hi.

I want to suggest another plugin..."the uploader". 'Twould be cool to have such a plugin in order to upload notably images to an "uploads" folder so they can be locally hosted in order to be displayed in certain posts/docs. This would be nifty when the only copy of the image available is either on the blogger's hard disc or on a website that won't let you display the image hosted on their server and it would be a hassle to walk over to your own server to upload the image somewhere manually. It would be even cooler if large images are automatically reduced to say ~150 kb.

Should also include a link to the uploads folder (could be a bare-bone folder view or even display the uploaded files in Kure's web based Graphic User Interface) where one could click on the image and view just that in their browser or even include an output giving the image's URL to be included in posts/docs in order for 'em to display.

Well, is it at least feasible? What do y'all think about the idea?
